Before March 2020, I’d never heard the term, Live Yoga. It was Yoga, nice and simple.
I like to make my mind up about things, or before I know it I’ve spent too long procrastinating. Time goes so quickly, particularly if I’m not decisive and focused on each task in hand. How the day runs so much more smoothly when I am flying through my chores, work tasks, and paperwork fully focused. I haven’t always been able to focus so well, study music, meditation and Yoga have given me clarity like never before.
The point is, it took me a long time to decide when I should go back to teaching Live Yoga Classes. The Halls were not sure when they could open, so it was out of my hands for a while. When I did get notice of Leckhampton Village Hall reopening, I still took a while to decide. I had to weigh up the risks, what if someone bought Covid in, or my children caught it and unknowing to me, I spread it. I have had my fair share of Covid dreams. Me and Mister are both quite recently self employed, and there is no back up income, should either of us not be able to work. I really do think of every eventuality!

I did my research, wrote my risk assessment, I met with the Hall Manager, who has done a great job, and I purchased my thermometer. I know that some of you really don’t get on with online Yoga, I completely understand. I know that Leckhampton is too far, for some. I feel it’s my test or introduction, to see how it is, back in real life, teaching Yoga, to be able to offer this to you. And the other Halls that I hire are not as big and airy. I wouldn’t of felt comfortable and trying to hire a new place is really tricky at the moment, they understandably want their regular hirers.
We’ve been back in the Hall for 3 weeks, it’s lovely to see you in person. It felt surreal after 6 months of not being in a room with you. Good though, I love human contact (even if socially distanced) over technology, any day. I do have a new appreciation for zoom and the internet, because I wouldn’t of been able to carry on teaching Yoga, and seeing you all. Although, I am still working on my feelings towards xbox and mobile phones, Kid’s that bit’s for you.
For the foreseeable future we will be at Leckhampton Village Hall at 9 a.m on Friday mornings. The new term is available to book now. I will have news in the New Year about returning to other Venues. In the meantime you are very welcome to try a Yoga Class online, if not live.
Namaste Katy,
